Project Children’s Wood
Children’s Wood” is a project with basic mission to build more than ten parks for children’s playing and entertainment in towns Kostolac and Pozarevac.
Actual aim: planting of further hectares of woods, as alternative to urban area, for children’s playing.
Simultaneously; to educate children and their parents about trees and woods function in our lives.
Long time strategy of RIO is (Recultivation and land planting): to achieve humans healthier relation towards environment and specially the youngest urban generation.

Festival “Children donate wood” in Zvezdara wood
Festival of children’s creativity “Children donate wood” was
held on Saturday noon, on the 26th of March in Zvezdara wood, just
across of Beli Bor( White Pine). Festival was held under slogan “Let’s make our imagination free!” and the Elementary School pupils and fresh starters of nursery presented themselves to the audience by exhibition of drawings and products among which were birdhouses.
Photography exhibition was opened too and works about
environment protection. Falk dance group from Elementary school “Veljko
Dugosevic” took part and performed ritual dance “Rainmaker” as well as, a set
of dances from
Pupils from musical school “Vladimir Djordjevic” represented themselves, with their musical performance, to the audience, as well as flautists of musical school “Josip Slavenski”. Children performed the “Good Tree”, and as the festival is not of competitive character, all children who wanted to recite, play or dance, had an opportunity to do that.
Festival organizers are the Association “Protect Zvezdara Wood”, Regional centre for talents and Company RIO Kostolac.
