RIO has an important
experience in connection to local unity and children’s needs through real
actions and accompanied educative materials.
Ecological project under the name of “Children’s wood”
includes building of more than ten parks for children to play and entertain in
towns Kostolac and Pozarevac. Real aim is to plant woods on thousands of
hectares which will serve the youngest as an alternative to urban area.
Project includes planting of 140 plants in Kostolac apropos
140 year of mine work and industrialization of Serbia.
Parallel children’s education is done through adequate
materials (comic strips, animated films, leaflets and colouring books) in
Kostolac, Pozarevac and Belgrade
about trees and woods part in our lives. It’s a part of long term strategy of RIO to achieve healthier relation of people towards
environment.
RIO works on two versions
of commercial projects to close ash depots. One possibility foresees growing of
basic biological raw materials: industrial wood, oil plants for bio diesel and
flax. The other is to secure space to build different infrastructures from
sport-recreation centers to industrial objects like green field investment type
as the Danube river is in vicinity.
Quota emission of carbon dioxide, established by Kyoto protocol, made new
market possibilities to sell unused quantities of emission, to other countries.
The only two ways not to reach permitted quota emission, within a country, are
reducing industry production or increasing wood’s fund. RIO makes it possible
for Serbia
to have surplus of this most wanted resource of modern age by wood planting and
it could easily be exported to international market.
